Women's ResultsSewell, NJ – Stockton University finished fourth in both men's and women's competition at the NJAC Cross Country Championships, which were held today at Rowan College of Gloucester County.
Cassandra Hrusko (Manchester/Manchester Twp.) finished in the top 10 at the conference meet for the second straight year. Hrusko placed eighth out of 72 runners in the women's 6K race with a time of 22:34.74 on the heels of finishing sixth in 2014.
Antonino Piro (Wildwood/Wildwood Catholic) was Stockton's top male finisher for the second straight year. Piro placed 17th out of 91 harriers with a time of 26:01.62 for 8K. He was followed by
Dagoberto Arias (Pleasantville/Pleasantville) in 21st place (26:10.99) and freshman
Joe D'Amico (Bayville/Central Regional) in 24th (26:16.06).
Stockton's last two scoring runners crossed the finish line two seconds apart for consecutive places.
Sean Lynch (Robbinsville/Robbinsville) finished 31st (26:42.46), with
Charles Estrada (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) next across the line in 32nd place (26:44.60).
Freshman
Regina Duncan (Frelinghuysen Twp./North Warren) was the second Osprey to finish in the women's race, placing 21st overall (23:43.19).
Alexandra Lacorazza (Palisades Park/Palisades Park), another freshman, finished 26th (23:59.75) and
Christina Welsh (Hamilton/Hamilton West) was 30th (24:14.25).
Cierra Granger (Ocean City/Ocean City) made it three freshmen in Stockton's top five by placing 32nd (24:34.10).
Stockton will head to Castile, New York for the NCAA Atlantic Regionals in two weeks on Saturday, November 14.
