Galloway, NJ – Stockton University junior
Cassandra Hrusko (Manchester/Manchester Twp.) earned her third straight NJAC all-conference honor in women's cross country as she picked up an NJAC Second Team nod.
Hrusko finished in the top 10 at the conference meet for the second straight year, placing eighth out of 72 runners in the women's 6K race with a time of 22:34.74 on the heels of finishing sixth in 2014. The junior led Stockton to a fourth-place team finish in the NJAC Championship.
Hrusko was named NJAC Rookie of the Year in 2013 as the highest-finishing newcomer at the NJAC Championship, then earned an NJAC First Team spot last season. This year, she has been Stockton's top finisher in all four races that she has run. Hrusko has posted two top-10 finishes, fourth at the NJAIAW Championship and eighth at the NJAC Championship.
The Ospreys will head to Castile, New York for the NCAA Atlantic Regionals on Saturday, November 14. Hrusko will be trying to earn all-region honors for the second straight year. Last year, she produced the best finish ever by a Stockton female at the NCAA Regionals by placing 20th out of 272 runners (22:27.8).
