Galloway, NJ – Stockton Athletics hosted Community Day at its basketball doubleheader on February 3. Three community groups, the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic & Cape County, Hamilton Township Police Athletic League and Franklin Township Youth Basketball, attended the games and supported the Osprey men's and women's teams as they both defeated Montclair State.
The three organizations brought a combined total of 120 participants. During halftime of the men's game, all of the community groups were recognized on the court, where they had an opportunity to take a picture with Talon, Stockton's mascot.
After each game, the groups attended a meet-and-greet with the Stockton teams. The kids had the opportunity to hear from the players themselves what it is like to be a student-athlete at Stockton, how hard work both on and off the court pays off, how playing for Stockton has created lasting friendships and how important it is to continue attending school. Afterwards the players signed autographs for their young fans.
