Josh Blamon (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson) sank a free throw with three seconds remaining that gave Richard Stockton (1-0) a come-from-behind 76-75 win over Wilkes University (0-1). The Ospreys squandered a 12-point first half lead and had to rally back late in the second half. Both teams shot well from the field with Stockton hitting on 52.7% (29-55) and Wilkes shooting 22-45 (48.9%) including 13-29 (44.8%) from behind the arc for the night. The game was the second part of the Stockton Tip-Off Classic men's doubleheader.

The Ospreys broke out of the gate in methodical fashion as they built leads of 10 and 12 points before the Colonels clawed their way back. With the score 26-14 in favor of Stockton at the 7:38 mark of the first half, Wilkes rattled off 14 straight points during a 20-3 run to take a 34-29 halftime advantage. Alec Wizar and Steve Stravinski did the damage with 17 and 14 points respectively for Wilkes. The pair combined for 7-13 from behind the arc in the period.

The second half continued with the Colonels keeping the Ospreys at bay, extending the lead to 66-58 with 8:10 left in regulation.
Armin Cane (Pleasantville/Pleasantville) kept Stockton in the contest as he scored all of his team-high 25 points during the second stanza. Wilkes led 72-65 with just under five minutes left when Stockton ran off 10 straight points to re-take the lead 75-72. Cane scored four points with Blamon and freshman
Zavon Johnson (Trenton/West Windsor-Plainsboro South) nailing three-pointers during the run.

Stravinski tied it again at 75-75 before the Ospreys'
Nate Pacius (Neptune/Academy Charter) blocked an attempted three by Wilkes and Stockton corralled the loose ball with 26 seconds left. Blamon was fouled on the ensuing possession and hit one of two foul shots to seal the victory with three ticks left on the clock. The Colonels could not get another shot off and Stockton escaped with the dramatic one-point win.

Cane led the Ospreys with 25 points, all in the second half. Blamon added 14 markers with Johnson and
Marcus Harmon (Whitesboro/Middle Twp.) chipping in with 12 and 10 points respectively. Pacius and Blamon dished five assists each and Pacius pilfered four steals.

Stravinski scored 33 points to lead Wilkes with Wizar tallying 25 markers. Stravinski and Cameron Hinkel pulled down a game-high nine boards each, with Hinkel assisting on six baskets for the game.

Stockton will take on #8 Albertus Magnus tomorrow at 6 pm for the Stockton Tip-Off Classic title.
