Club Sports - Ultimate Frisbee

Ultimate, originally known as Ultimate Frisbee, is a non-contact team game played by players with a flying disc. Ultimate was developed in 1968 by a group of students from Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey. Although ultimate resembles many traditional sports in its athletic requirements, it is unlike most sports due to its focus on self-officiating, even at the highest levels of competition.

The term Frisbee often used to describe all flying discs, is a registered trademark of the Whamo Toy Company, and thus the sport is not formally called "ultimate Frisbee". Points are scored by passing the disc to a teammate in the opposing endzone. Other basic rules are that players must not take steps while holding the disc, and interceptions, incomplete passes, and passes out of bounds are turnovers. Rain, wind, or occasionally other adversities can make for difficult  matches with rapid turnovers, heightening the pressure of play.
Coach Cook graduated from Stockton University with a Bachelor’s in Political Science in 2019.  Coach has played Ultimate competitively for over 11 years and was a former player, captain, and President of the Stockton Ultimate team from 2015-2018.  Kyle started his ultimate career playing for Penn State University, making their A-team as a true freshman.  After transferring to Stockton, Kyle has played for several high-level club and league teams until taking over his new opportunity at Stockton University. During his time as a player for Stockton University, he had the opportunity to compete against some of the best college teams in the country and made friends that will last a lifetime. Coach is excited for the opportunity to pass on what he has learned through his collegiate playing days to the next generation.
