BoxscoreScranton, PA – Richard Stockton (7-3) fell to Cabrini (5-2) 62-61 in overtime in the first round of the Scranton Hilton Poinsettia Classic, snapping Stockton's six-game winning streak. The game was close throughout, with 15 ties and seven lead changes.
Sara Farrell (Marlton/Cherokee) led the Ospreys with a team-high 13 points plus six rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal while playing all 45 minutes.

Alex Nardoza (Fords/Woodbridge) chipped in with 12 points and team highs of eight rebounds and four assists.
Lauren Alwan (Cherry Hill/Timber Creek) also reached double figures with 12 points while transfer
Lauren Bowler (Little Silver/Red Bank Regional) and freshman
Lea Mendolla (Nutley/Mount St. Dominic) notched career highs with nine and seven points respectively.

Farrell sank a clutch three-pointer with 1:08 remaining to draw Stockton into a 51-51 tie and Nardoza followed with a layup at the 37-second mark to put the Ospreys in front 53-51. Cabrini's Amber Keys tied the game 17 seconds later and Stockton missed a potential game-winning shot at the buzzer.

In overtime, Stockton built a 59-56 lead with a four-point burst on an Alwan layup and then two free throws by Bowler with 2:11 on the clock. Cabrini answered with two straight three-pointers to go ahead 62-59 with 1:03 left. Nardoza closed the gap to 62-61 on a layup with 35 seconds remaining but the Ospreys were unable to get a final shot and suffered the one-point setback. Â

The margin between the teams was five points or less for the entire first half. The Ospreys led 21-16 on a three-pointer by Mendolla and later trailed by three before getting within 27-26 at the break on a layup by Mendolla. Alwan paced Stockton with eight first-half points. The Ospreys fell behind 40-33 in the second half but rallied back with a 9-2 run to force a 42-42 tie. The game was tied four more times in the final 6:17 of regulation before ultimately being decided in overtime.

Stockton play in the the Scranton Hilton Poinsettia Classic again tomorrow as the Ospreys take on Eastern University at 3 pm in their last game until January 7.
