BoxscoreMontclair, NJ – Richard Stockton (11-3, 7-1 NJAC) opened up a 13-point halftime lead and knocked off previously unbeaten #5 Montclair State (14-1, 7-1) 61-60 for a big NJAC win. The victory was Stockton's fourth straight and the loss with the Red Hawks' first of the season.
Alex Nardoza (Fords/Woodbridge) led the Ospreys with team highs of 21 points and four assists. Nardoza, who also grabbed seven rebounds, shot 9-13 from the floor and increased her career scoring total to 981 points.

Sara Farrell (Marlton/Cherokee) played all 40 minutes, racking up 16 points, nine rebounds and two blocks. Farrell has scored in double figures in 13 of Stockton's 14 games this season, including 12 straight.
Lauren Alwan (Cherry Hill/Winslow Twp.) tied Farrell for team-high honors on the glass with nine boards to go with eight points while freshman
Sasha Williams (Cherry Hill/CH West) tallied six points, eight rebounds, five blocks, three assists and two steals.

Stockton took its first lead at 9-7 on a three-pointer by Farrell four minutes into the game and never trailed again. After a Montclair State basket, the Ospreys reeled off 12 unanswered points for a 21-9 advantage.
Marina Lukianov (Howell/Howell) scored four of her eight points on a pair of layups during the outburst.

The Red Hawks seemed to settle down with a 12-2 run over the next four minutes but Stockton responded with the last 11 points of the half. Nardoza scored five, Farrell added four and Williams sank a putback layup in the final seconds to give the Ospreys a 34-21 lead at the break. Nardoza netted 11 first-half points while Farrell totaled nine points and seven rebounds. Montclair State shot just 8-28 (26.7%) from the floor.

After some back-and-forth play to open the second half, Farrell hit a layup to extend Stockton's lead back to 13 at 42-29 with 14:26 to play. The margin was 12 (51-39) after a Nardoza layup with 6:56 on the clock when the Red Hawks went on a 14-4 run to close to 55-53. Farrell then drained a clutch three-pointer to extend to 58-53 at the 2:47 mark. Stockton later went just 1-4 at the line in the last minute but stayed in front held off the Red Hawks to pull the 61-60 upset.

Stockton will return home to host Kean in an NJAC game on Saturday afternoon at 3 pm.
