Boxscore

Galloway, NJ – Richard Stockton (13-2, 8-1 NJAC), ranked #11 nationally by D3hoops.com, picked up their second straight victory with a wire-to-wire 74-53 win over visiting Kean University (3-12, 1-8 NJAC) on Saturday afternoon.  The Ospreys used a balanced scoring effort as 10 different players hit the scoring column. They were dominant on the glass, pulling down 43 rebounds, 17 offensive, that led to 27 second-chance points for the game

The Ospreys jumped out quickly in the first half, stretching their lead to as many as 13 points on two occasions. Marcus Harmon (Whitesboro/Middle Twp.) and Anthony Woodard (Atlantic City/Atlantic City) each scored six markers, with Woodard dishing three of his game-high four assists during the first 20 minutes. The Ospreys used 42.3% (11-26) shooting to forge a 29-21 halftime advantage.

The second stanza produced more of the same results as the Cougars could not get any closer that seven points before Stockton methodically extended the margin. Armin Cane (Pleasantville/Pleasantville) scored 11 points while Josh Blamon (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson) and Woodard both potted 10 markers during the period as Stockton pulled away to set the 74-53 final score.

Woodard set a career high with 16 points on 7-9 (77.8%) shooting and tied with Blamon with six boards apiece. Woodard also tied his career high with his four helpers on the day to go along with two blocks and two steals. Cane and Blamon scored 16 and 15 points respectively, with Carlton Whitehead (Ewing/Life Center) pilfering three of Stockton's eight steals in the game.

For the Cougars, Tommy Soulias led the way with 18 points with Mike Diamond adding 10 markers as the only players in double figures. Soulias also grabbed a game high seven rebounds.

Stockton will travel to Rowan University for their next game on Wednesday night. Game time is set for 8 pm.
