BoxscoreLancaster, PA – #4 Richard Stockton (11-0) returned to action for its first game in three weeks and held off Lynchburg (8-2) for a 62-60 victory in the Sponaugle Tournament at Franklin & Marshall. The win was Stockton's fourth by three points or less this season and came against a Lynchburg team that is sixth in the Also Receiving Votes category of the D3hoops.com national poll.

The game was
Gerry Matthews' 800th in 29 years as Stockton's head coach. Matthews, the winningest coach in New Jersey men's basketball history, has a record of 570-230.
Josh Blamon (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson) went 14-15 at the line on the way to a game-high 25 points and also grabbed six rebounds.
Armin Cane (Pleasantville/Pleasantville) totaled 12 points, five boards and a team-high three assists.

Anthony Woodard (Atlantic City/Atlantic City) shot 5-6 from the floor and finished with 11 points plus a team-high eight rebounds.
Marcus Harmon (Whitesboro/Middle Twp.) also hit double figures with 10 points. The Ospreys shot just 3-17 (17.6%) from three-point range but forced 24 Lynchburg turnovers, which they converted into 25 points.

The Ospreys trailed 51-47 with 4:41 to play and surged to the lead with a 10-2 run over the next three minutes. Blamon led the charge with four points and Woodard capped it with a layup that gave Stockton a 57-53 lead with 1:31 on the clock. After Lynchburg closed the gap to two, the Ospreys went 5-6 at the line in the last 31 seconds to stay in front and win 62-60 for their 11th straight victory.

Stockton went nearly four minutes before scoring its first basket and trailed 13-2 early. The Ospreys took their first lead by reeling off 15 consecutive points for a 17-13 edge. After two more lead changes, the Osprey settled for a 31-28 advantage at intermission. The margin between the teams never exceeded four points in the second half, which featured five lead changes before Stockton went in front for good at 53-51 on a jumper by Cane with 2:50 remaining.

Stockton will play either #25 Franklin & Marshall or Immaculata in the championship game of the Sponaugle Tournament tomorrow at 3 pm.
