Boxscore

Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (3-14, 0-6 NJAC) finished the 2015 season with a 5-2 defeat to #10 Montclair State (14-4, 4-2 NJAC) on Saturday afternoon. The Red Hawks are ranked #10 nationally by the NFHCA, and they were the third ranked opponent that the Ospreys faced this year. Laura Olbrich (Pittsgrove/A.P. Schalick) and Leah Davies (Ocean City/Ocean City) scored Stockton's markers in the game.

The Ospreys wasted no time in getting on the board as Olbrich tipped in a pass from Grace Kinney (Brigantine/GCIT) for a quick 1-0 lead just 32 seconds into the contest. The goal was Olbrich's team-leading fifth marker of the season.

Montclair State answered with four straight tallies to take a 4-1 lead before Davies potted her fourth goal of the season with 2:18 remaining in the half to cut the margin to 4-2 at the break. Alexa Massa (Moorestown/Moorestown) sent a pass that Davies tipped in for the goal.

That was as close as Stockton would get as Montclair State tallied one more goal in the second half while holding the Ospreys off the board to set the final score at 5-2.

Stockton goalkeeper Emily Sorochynskyj (Boonton/Boonton) made 10 saves to end her first season in net with 124 saves for the year. The Ospreys were outshot 20-5, with the Red Hawks also holding a 14-7 advantage on penalty corners. Montclair goalie Rebecca Brattole made two saves in 65:37 of play before giving way to Kaitlin Maguire who finished up the last 4:23 in net without facing a shot on goal

Before the contest, Stockton honored their two seniors, Kinney and Averi Olive (Sea Isle City/Hammonton), as they played their last game for the Ospreys' field hockey program. Kinney is a four-year letter winner and Olive, this year's team captain, played three seasons for Stockton.

Maura Johnston led the Red Hawks with two goals on the day, with teammate Ariel Galgano picking up a goal and an assist.
