Boxscore

Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (10-3, 3-1 NJAC) exploded for five goals in the second half and went on to a 5-0 win over New Jersey City (1-11, 0-5 NJAC) on Wednesday night. Five different Ospreys hit the net, led by Tim Sost (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) with a goal and assist. Stockton outshot the Gothic Knights 20-5 on the evening.

After a scoreless first half in which the Ospreys squeeze off eight shots to just one for NJCU, Stockton scored 3:19 into the second stanza.  Anthony Colofranson (Woodbury Hts./Gateway) netted his 10th marker of the season, converting a pass from Bobby Spracklin (Easthampton/Rancocas Valley) for the 1-0 advantage. The goal was Colofranson's 47th career tally, moving him past John Epley for third on Stockton's all-time goal scoring list.

Sost potted his tally at 65:27, tipping the ball into the low left corner for a 2-0 lead. Jared Ruff (Delran/Delran) picked up the helper. Just 1:12 later, Ian Carmelia (Mt. Holly/Rancocas Valley) took a Sost feed and scored from 10 yards out for his first goal of the season and a 3-0 margin for Stockton.

Steven Tobolski (Vineland/Vineland) scored his third goal of the year after Joe Stapleton (Forked River/Lacey Twp.) sent him in alone to make it 4-0 at 75:11. Myles Gortva (Bayville/Central Regional) completed the rout five minutes later with a tap-in from Jeff Morgan (Sicklerville/Timber Creek) for the fifth and final tally of the night.

Stockton goalkeeper Bobby Varga (Toms River/TR East) made two saves in picking up his eighth win and his second consecutive shutout. Varga has not allowed a goal in his last 245 minutes in net for the Ospreys. Gothic Knights' netminder John Riggs kicked out six Stockton attempts in taking the loss.

Stockton will finish up its three-game homestand on Saturday afternoon when Rutgers-Newark visits for an NJAC game at 2 p.m..
