Game 2Winter Haven, FL – Stockton University (3-4) returned to action after a day off by splitting a doubleheader with Albion College (MI) (2-2). The Ospreys were nipped 9-8 in the first game 9-8 but regrouped to win the second game 14-4. After scoring just four runs total in their previous two games, Stockton exploded for 22 runs in the twinbill.
In the first game, Stockton led 7-1 after scoring four runs in the top of the third but could not protect the lead as Albion scored three runs in the bottom of the third, two in the fourth inning and three in the sixth to top the Ospreys.
Mark Jankowski (Sewell/Washington Twp.) went 2-3 with a double, triple and two RBI while
Erik Danser (Marlton/Cherokee) contributed two hits and three RBI.
Stockton earned the split by scoring a season-high 14 runs on just nine hits in the nightcap.
Matt Mangarella (Milltown/Spotswood) led the Ospreys with three hits, including two doubles, three RBI and a run scored.
Stephen Struble (Hammonton/Hammonton) was 2-3 with a double, his first career home run, four RBI and two runs while
Brett Solomen (Harrison Twp./Clearview) produced a double, three runs and two RBI.
Already leading 4-2, the Ospreys put the game out of reach with 10 runs in the fifth inning.
Mike Bergin (Middletown/Middletown South) scattered nine hits and struck out seven while tossing all seven innings for the complete game victory on the mound.

Stockton will be back on the field tomorrow morning for a game against Bowdoin College (ME) at 9:30 am.
