BoxscoreWinter Haven, FL – Stockton University (5-4) ended its nine-game trip to Florida with a 7-1 victory over SUNY Canton (3-8) that was the Ospreys' third straight win.
Matt Mangarella (Milltown/Spotswood) paced the Stockton offense with four hits and three RBI.
George Eisenhart (Harrison Twp./Clearview) and
Dan Sweeney (Middletown/Middletown South) contributed two hits apiece.

Stockton took the early lead with a run in the first inning and three more in the second for a 4-0 lead. Mangarella made it 6-0 with a two-run single in the fifth and the Ospreys added a run in the sixth for a 7-0 advantage. Canton spoiled the shutout with its only run in the bottom of the seventh to produce the 7-1 final score.

Aidan Ryan (Cedar Run/Msgr. Donovan) earned the win with six scoreless innings during which he limited Canton to just three hits and struck out two. Three Stockton relievers tossed one inning apiece to seal the victory. The four Osprey hurlers allowed just six hits total in the contest.

Stockton is scheduled to play its home opener on Wednesday when the Ospreys host Penn State Abington at 3 pm.
