Game 2Winter Haven, FL - Stockton University (1-1) opened the 2015 season by splitting a pair of extra-inning games in a doubleheader against Rhode Island College. The Ospreys dropped the opener 5-3 in eight innings but rebounded to win the nightcap 7-4 in eight innings to give new head coach
Scott Baker his first win at Stockton.
In the first game,
George Eisenhart (Harrison Twp./Clearview) went 2-4 with three RBI and
Andy Oliver (Penns Grove/Penns Grove) was 2-4 at the plate.
Stephen Struble (Hammonton/Hammonton) went 1-3 with a double as well.
Stockton took the second game with three runs in the top of the eighth that snapped a 4-4 tie. Struble and
Matt Mangarella (Milltown/Spotswood) paced the Ospreys by each going 2-4 with a double and two RBI.
Brett Solomen (Harrison Twp./Clearview) contributed a double and an RBI.
Stockton will be right back in action on Sunday morning with a game against Iowa Wesleyan at 9:30 am.
