BoxscoreGlenside, PA – Stockton University (3-0) won its third game of the season as the Ospreys outscored Arcadia (1-4) 7-2 in the second half for a 12-7 victory in a game that was halted at halftime due to snow on February 21 and resumed tonight. The Ospreys broke away by scoring the last five goals of the game to snap a 7-7 tie.
Â
Sixteen days ago, the teams played to a 5-5 draw at the half when the game was halted because snow rendered the field too slick to continue. When the contest was resumed tonight, goals by
Guy Loggi (Somers Point/Mainland) and
Tyler Van Benschoten (Saddle Brook/St. Joseph Regional) offset one Arcadia tally to give the Ospreys a 7-6 edge after three periods.
Â
The Knights scored 34 seconds in to the fourth quarter to knot the game at 7-7 but Stockton took over from there. Just 32 seconds after the tying goal,
James O'Donnell (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) gave the Ospreys the lead for good. Stockton tacked on four more scores in the last 12 minutes, three by
Vincent Manasia (Clark/Arthur L. Johnson) and one by Loggi, to clinch the 12-7 victory.
Â
Overall, Manasia paced the Ospreys with four goals followed by O'Donnell with three and Loggi with two in the unusual two-part matchup.
Nick Bologno(Glen Gardner/North Hunterdon) finished with a goal and four assists. Stockton goalkeeper
Eric Leonard (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) earned his third win of the season with six saves, three on February 21 and three tonight.
Â
Stockton will hit the road again on Wednesday to face Centenary at 3 pm.
