Game 2Camden, NJ – Stockton University (10-5, 0-4 NJAC) saw their losing streak stretch to four straight games as the Ospreys dropped a doubleheader to Rutgers-Camden (11-3-1, 4-0 NJAC) by scores of 6-3 and 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
Marisa Ortiz (Manchester/Manchester Twp.) and
Dominique Dorris (Mantua/Clearview) had two hits each for the Ospreys in the twinbill.

Game one saw the Scarlet Raptors jump out to a 3-0 lead before Stockton answered with a two-run homer off the bat of
Holly Arentowicz (Roxbury/Roxbury) to cut the advantage to 3-2 after four frames. Rutgers-Camden stretched their lead to 6-2 by putting a three-spot on the board in their half of the fifth inning, highlighted by a two-run homer by winning pitcher Brittany Scott. Dorris set the final score at 6-3 with her first home run of the season in the sixth inning.
Brittany Ksiezopolski (Hillsborough/Hillsborough) tossed 4.2 innings in the opener, dropping her record to 4-2.
Hannah Bibeault (Hopatcong/Hopatcong) finished up in relief giving up just one hit.
Game two was a pitcher's duel between Scott and
Samantha Shockey (Deptford/Deptford). An unearned run in the third inning by the Scarlet Raptors held up for the 1-0 final in their favor. For Stockton, Ortiz and
Savannah Riotte (Elizabeth/Elizabeth) each reached base twice. Ortiz singled and was hit by a pitch while Riotte singled and walked.
The Ospreys left eight runners on base and were shut out for the first time in 15 games this season. Shockey (4-2) threw all six innings, allowing just four hits and one unearned run in the hard-luck defeat.

Scott upped her record to 9-2 with the two victories for Rutgers-Camden while teammate Taylor Nichols rapped out five hits in the doubleheader.

Stockton will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they will take on Montclair State at home for an NJAC doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 1 pm.
