BoxscoreGlassboro, NJ – Stockton University (11-12, 3-8) scored three runs in the ninth inning but could not erase a large deficit and fell to #28 Rowan (20-7, 9-2) 8-5 in the first of four NJAC games in a three-day span.
Andy Oliver (Penns Grove/Penns Grove) led a 10-hit offense by going 2-4 with a triple, two runs and two RBI.
George Eisenhart (Harrison Twp./Clearview) went 2-4 with a double and an RBI while
Brett Solomen (Harrison Twp./Clearview) also contributed two hits.

Rowan scored three times in the second inning and Stockton went scoreless through the first four frames. The Ospreys got on the board in the fifth as Oliver singled and later scored on a sacrifice fly by
Matt Mangarella (Milltown/Spotswood). They got within 3-2 in the sixth inning when Eisenhart led off with a double and scored on an RBI single by
Dan Sweeney (Middletown/Middletown South).

Rowan answered right back with a single run in the bottom of the sixth followed by one in the seventh and three more in the eighth for an 8-2 score entering the last inning. Oliver tripled in two runs and then scored on an RBI groundout by
Keith Tappert (Toms River/TR East) to make it 8-5 but the rally stalled there and the Ospreys suffered their sixth consecutive defeat.

Starter
Dylan Warburton (Sewell/Washington Twp.) pitched the first 5.1 innings, allowing four runs and striking out six while taking the loss on the hill. The Profs touched up two Stockton relievers for four more tallies, two of which were unearned.

Stockton and Rowan will square off again tomorrow at 3:30 pm, this time on the Ospreys' home field in Galloway.
