Boxscore

Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (10-6-2, 4-3-1 NJAC) exploded for five goals in the first half and cruised to a 7-1 victory over New Jersey City (6-7-1, 2-6 NJAC) on Saturday afternoon.  Jill DiBlasi (Atco/Hammonton) scored twice and dished an assist. Head coach Nick Juengert earned his 200th career victory in his 14th season at Stockton. Juengert has led the Ospreys to four NCAA Tournament berths.

The Ospreys wasted no time in potting the first two scores of the day courtesy of DiBlasi. Her first tally was a tap-in off a goal mouth feed from Adrianna Boucher (Hamilton/Steinert) at 4:05 and then she blasted a shot in off a defender 1:39 later for a 2-0 Osprey margin.

After an own goal by NJCU, Lindsey Thomas (Swedesboro/Kingsway) was sent on a breakaway by DiBlasi and scored to make it 4-0. Christina Denney (Millstone/Allentown) then was sent in alone by Sara Beenders (Rahway/Allied Health Sciences) for a 5-0 lead at the break.

The Gothic Knights broke the shutout attempt when Kaydee Murphy tapped in a shot to make it 5-1 at 65:28. Stockton answered in short order, scoring twice in a 52-second span to set the final score at 7-1.

Dana Scillieri (Pequannock/Pequannock Twp.) scored her first career goal on a crossing pass from Boucher. Alexa Fama (Linwood/Mainland) blasted a shot off a breakaway pass from Melanie Iatarola (Sewell/Washington Twp.) to end the rout. The assist was Iatarola's first career point.

Stockton goalkeeper Nicole Pallante (Brick/Brick Twp.) played the first half, earning her 10th win of the season without having to make a save. Dionia Henderson (Burlington Twp./Burlington Twp.) played the second half for the Ospreys. Joelle Paris took the loss in net making four saves in her collegiate debut as a goalie for the Gothic Knights.

Stockton will travel to Brooklyn, NY for their next match, against Brooklyn College on Monday. Game time is set for 6:30 pm.
