Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (10-3, 2-1 Skyline) used a stifling defense, forcing 29 turnovers and allowing just 30 shots, on the way to a 19-5 victory over Maritime College (5-5, 0-2 Skyline) on Saturday afternoon.
Vincent Manasia (Clark/Arthur L. Johnson) led the Ospreys with four goals and an assist for five points on the day and nine different players hit the net for Stockton.

The Privateers took a 2-1 lead after one period as they scored twice to sandwich a tally by
Mike Caposella (Wayne/DePaul Catholic) for the one goal margin. Stockton exploded for seven goals in the second period, allowing just one for the visitors for an 8-3 halftime advantage.

Alex DiClemente (Wyckoff/Ramapo) got the rally started with his first goal of the season. Manasia and
Colin Shea (Rumson/Rumson-Fair Haven) then potted goals 1:16 apart for the 4-2 lead with 9:26 left in the half.

The Privateers scored to cut the lead to 4-3 but Stockton answered in quick fashion. Starting at the 5:50 mark,
Mark Scherzer (Holmdel/Holmdel), Manasia and
James O'Donnell (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) scored in a span of 2:44 to give Stockton a 7-3 margin. Zach Aho (Shamong/Seneca) finished the run with 48 seconds left for the 8-3, lead at the break.

Maritime began the third frame with a goal, but again the Ospreys answered with markers by Aho, Shea and
Guy Loggi (Somers Point/Mainland) for a 10-4 advantage after three periods. Stockton finished up the contest by scoring eight goals against one marker for the visitors in the fourth quarter, with Loggi and Manasia accounting for two goals each, setting the final score at 19-5 for Stockton.

In addition to Manasia's four-goal day, Loggi and Shea tallied three goals each, with O'Donnell, Caposella and Aho netting two scores apiece. O'Donnell, Scherzer and
Tommy Gallo (Clinton/North Hunterdon) dished two assists each.

Lance Pecina (Clark/Arthur L. Johnson) led the defense with six of the 17 caused turnovers that the Ospreys registered in the game.
Tony Pagano (Flemington/Hunterdon Central) won 14-20 faceoffs and led Stockton with seven ground balls while
Pat Quinn (Shrewsbury/Red Bank Regional) kicked out 11 shots for the win in net.

Nick Pellegrino led the Privateers with two goals, with teammate T.J. Ragusa dishing a game-high three assists. Brendan McNally was superb in net, making 18 saves in the first 50:38 before being relieved by Justin Weigold and then Ian Ballou who made one save each to finish out the contest.

Stockton will take to the road for their next game on Wednesday afternoon. The Ospreys will face Skyline foe Farmingdale State at 4 p.m.
