Wayne, NJ – Stockton University (10-3-3, 2-3-2 NJAC) trailed for over 78 minutes before scoring a late goal that led to a 1-1 tie in an NJAC road game at William Paterson (9-4-2, 3-3-1 NJAC). Junior
Joseph Dikmak (Marlton/Cherokee) scored his first career goal in his 48th college game for the Ospreys.
Stockton fell behind early as Cameron Allen found the net for the Pioneers just 1:17 into the contest. The Ospreys outshot William Paterson 5-2 in the first half but trailed 1-0 at the break.
The game became more physical in the second half as the teams combined for 16 fouls and eight yellow cards. One of those fouls led to Stockton's tying goal.
Eucario Solano (Galloway/Absegami) served a free kick that was headed by
Darnell Lopez (Paterson/St. Benedict's Prep) to Dikamk, whose shot from in tight went in under the crossbar to pull Stockton into a 1-1 tie with 10:23 left in regulation.
The Ospreys survived a late scare as a William Paterson shot was knocked away from the goal by a Stockton field player with 4:01 left in the second half. Each team registered four shots total in the two overtimes, but none found the net and the match ended in a 1-1 tie.
Stockton goalkeeper
Kellen Groover (Florence/Life Center) made four saves while his counterpart Kyle Quigley finished with six stops. Each team was credited with 15 shots in the match.
Nick Cristea (Medford/Shawnee) topped the Ospreys with four shots, all on goal.
