McMinnville, OR – Stockton University (8-4) completed a sweep of its two-game Oregon trip with a 76-64 victory over Linfield College (7-3), which entered the game with wins in seven of its nine contests. The Ospreys sank a season-high 13 three-pointers, shooting 43.3 percent from beyond the arc (13-30) to post their fourth straight win.
Kashaun Barnes (Toms River/Manchester Twp.) continued his outstanding play with a game-high 20 points plus five assists and four rebounds.
Jordan Taylor (East Orange/Cicely Tyson) went a torrid 5-7 from three-point range for a career-high 15 points and his first double-digit total at the college level.
Steve Ferebee (Galloway/Absegami) chipped in with 13 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Ferebee scored Stockton's first seven points to spark the team to a 7-2 lead and the Ospreys never trailed in the game. Barnes netted 10 points during an 18-4 run that blew the game open and gave Stockton a commanding 27-10 advantage. The Ospreys later closed the half with seven straight markers, capped by a Taylor three-pointer that boosted the lead to 40-20 at the break.
Stockton never was threatened in the second half, leading by at least 16 until the last 30 seconds and as much as 25 in the period. The Ospreys shot 52.4 percent from the floor (11-21) including 5-10 from outside the arc in the half and coasted to the 76-64 victory.
Stockton will put its four-game winning streak on hold for the holidays and play its next game in two weeks when the Ospreys host Rutgers-Newark in an NJAC tilt on January 3 at 6 pm.
