Boxscore

Erie, PA – Stockton University (17-11) advanced in the ECAC Metro Tournament Championship game with a convincing 83-63 win over Bethany College (17-12) on Saturday afternoon. Marcus Harmon (Whitesboro/Middle Twp.) led four Ospreys in double figures with 17 points, as Stockton shot a blistering 9-17 (52.9%) from behind the arc in the first half.

Stockton started slowly but quickly gained momentum late in the first half. With the game knotted for the third time at 20-20 at the 11:45 mark, the Ospreys ripped off 18 of the next 22 points to take a commanding lead at 38-24.

In the span of just under seven minutes, three baskets from the three-point line by Harmon, another pair of treys by Tom Catanoso (Cape May CH/Middle Twp.) and four points by Brandon Hamilton (Camden/Paulsboro) spurred the Ospreys to the lead. Stockton finished the half up by a score of 43-30.

The second half was all Kashaun Barnes (Toms River/Manchester Twp.) as he tallied all 15 of his points during the final 20 minutes of play. The Bison closed to 52-46 with 11:03 remaining, but that would be as close as they would get to Stockton. Barnes with four points, Zavon Johnson (Trenton/West Windsor-Plainsboro South) with a three pointer and a Blake Rossell (Margate/St. Augustine) basket put Stockton back up by double digits at 61-48 with 7:51 left in the game.

The lead would get no less than 11 points the rest of the way, as the Ospreys sealed the game hitting on six of six foul shots in the final 1:36 to set the final score at 83-63. The Ospreys had 16 assists on their 26 baskets for the game and shot 12-27 (44.4%) from the three-point line for the contest, sending them to the championship game.

Harmon's 17 points included hitting 5-7 from behind the arc. Barnes added 15 points, a game-high eight rebounds, five assists and two steals. Hamilton chipped in with 13 points and two steals, with Catanoso scoring 11 points (3-5 from three) and dishing five assists. Johnson and Rossell added eight and nine points respectively, with Rossell tying his career high output.
