Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (15-2, 8-1 Skyline) tied the school record for wins in a season, set last year, with a 17-8 victory over Mount St. Mary (NY) (6-9, 4-5) in the last game of the regular season. The Ospreys outscored the Knights 8-0 in the fourth quarter to post their 15th win of the year.
Tommy Gallo (Clinton/North Hunterdon) led Stockton with four goals and an assist followed by
Colin Shea (Rumson/Rumson-Fair Haven) with four goals. The Ospreys outshot Mount St. Mary 31-10 in the second half to finish with a 50-31 advantage.
After Gallo got the scoring started, the Knights fired in three goals in just over four minutes for a 3-1 lead. Shea scored his first of the night 48 seconds after the third MSMC tally but Danny Kugler later netted his second of the quarter and Stockton trailed 4-2 after one period.
The deficit grew to three at 5-2 just 33 seconds into the second quarter. The teams exchanged goals, with Gallo scoring for Stockton, and the margin remained three at 6-3. The Ospreys vaulted into a 6-6 tie with three goals in the last two minutes of the half.
Mike Caposella (Wayne/DePaul Catholic) started the run followed by
Zack Aho (Shamong/Seneca) and
Joey Tiernan (Voorhees/Eastern).
Each team scored twice in the first nine minutes of the third quarter, with Shea and
Erik Anderson (Monroe Twp./Monroe Twp.) striking for Stockton. Caposella gave the Ospreys the lead for good at 9-8 with 4:06 remaining in the period, igniting a run of nine straight Stockton goals.
The fourth quarter was all Ospreys, starting with two counters by Gallo 58 seconds apart that made it 11-8. Shea added two goals in the stanza while Anderson, Tiernan,
Jon Liguori (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) and
Mike Drumm (Fairfield/West Essex) added one apiece as Stockton cruised to the 17-8 triumph.

Justin Ruiz (Holmdel/Holmdel) earned the win with 10 saves.
Tyler Bollard (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) dominated the faceoff spot, winning 25 of 28 draws and scooping 16 ground balls.
Kugler, Kenneth Gallagher, Dylan De Meo and Nicholas Graziano each scored two goals for Mount St. Mary. Knights' goalie Christopher Doerr finished with 14 saves.
Stockton will be the No. 2 seed for the Skyline Conference tournament and have a lengthy break before hosting a semifinal round game against a yet-to-be-determined opponent on May 3 at 7 p.m.
