Bethlehem, PA – Stockton University (7-0-1) remained undefeated on the season and dealt previously-unbeaten Moravian (5-1-1) its first loss, topping the Greyhounds 2-0. A pair of defenders,
Kelly Blidi (Trenton/Trenton Catholic) and
TomTom Johnson (Trenton/Trenton Catholic), scored goals in addition to helping the Ospreys procure their fourth straight shutout.
Blidi netted his first goal of the season on a long free kick with 9:03 remaining in the first half. Stockton goalkeeper
Kellen Groover (Florence/Life Center) made four saves in the stanza and the Ospreys survived a Moravian shot off the crossbar just 17 seconds before the break. Blidi's marker accounted for Stockton's only shot on goal of the first half.
Stockton not only protected the lead in the second half but also outshot Moravian 7-4. The Ospreys sealed the win with a late insurance goal. Johnson headed home a corner kick by
Eucario Solano (Galloway/Absegami) for the second straight game. The tally came with just 2:31 remaining and clinched a 2-0 triumph that extended Stockton's unbeaten streak to eight.
Groover finished with five saves for his fifth shutout of the season. The reigning NJAC Defensive Player of the Week and ECAC Metro Defensive Player of the Week upped his shutout streak to 398:34 since he last surrendered a goal.
Stockton will host Ramapo in an NJAC game at G. Larry James Stadium on Saturday at 1 pm.
