Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (3-2) posted its second consecutive 9-0 shutout, this time over Cabrini (0-1) after blanking Staten Island by the same score last weekend. Once again, five Ospreys won matches in both singles and doubles.
Stockton swept all three doubles matches, but it didn't come easy.
Amanda El-Khouri (Brick/Brick Memorial) and
Taylor Searles (Turnersville/Washington Twp.) won a tight 8-6 decision.
Summer Conover (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) and
Kristen McCormick (Galloway/Absegami) prevailed 8-5.
Maria Ibarra (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) and
Emily Steinberg (Toms River/TR North) had an easier time, winning 8-3.
Stockton rolled in singles play, led by
Katelyn Emick (West Deptford/West Deptford) who recorded a 6-0, 6-0 shutout. Ibarra and Steinberg won by similar scores of 6-0, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-0 respectively. El-Khouri and McCormick each contributed 6-0, 6-2 triumphs while Conover won 6-2, 6-0.
Stockton will be in action again on Saturday with a road match at Bryn Mawr at noon.
