Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (7-3, 1-1 NJAC) dueled Montclair State (11-0, 1-0), ranked fifth in the nation by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association, to double overtime but fell to the unbeaten Red Hawks 2-1. The defeat snapped six-game winning streak that was the longest in the program's 15-year history.
Montclair State struck early as Amber Haslett put Stockton in a 1-0 hole just 8:35 into the game. The Ospreys answered with 4:50 remaining in the first half.
Britney Stein (Ocean City/Ocean City) got to a loose ball and scored for the third straight game. The marker was Stein's fifth goal of the season.
Scoring chances were limited throughout regulation. The teams registered six penalty corners apiece and Montclair State held a slim 6-4 edge in shots during the 70 minutes. The Red Hawks dialed up the pressure in the first overtime with seven shots and four corners but Stockton staved off every try.

Niya Calloway (Matawan/Matawan) came off the bench to stop a penalty stroke and
Alexa Massa (Moorestown/Moorestown) chipped in with a defensive save in the first OT.
Just 50 seconds into the second overtime, a Stockton infraction resulted in another penalty stroke for the Red Hawks. Kaitlyn Prestinari converted the attempt to deal Stockton the 2-1 defeat.
Gilligan finished with five saves for the Ospreys. Kaitlin Maguire notched the win with three stops for Montclair State.
