Wayne, NJ – Stockton University (24-6, 7-0 NJAC) kept their unblemished record in tact in NJAC play, with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-14) win over William Paterson (18-4, 3-4 NJAC) on Tuesday night.
Allie Desmond (Ellicott City, MD/Marriotts Ridge) led the offense with 14 kills, with
Julie Kohlhoff (West Islip, NY/West Islip) spiking 10 kills.

The Pioneers started quickly in the opening set, jumping out to a 14-8 lead before Stockton got untracked. Five straight points forced the home team into a timeout. Stockton fought back with Desmond smashing five of her eight kills in the first set to knot the set at 20-20. Three more spikes by the senior gave Stockton the first period at 25-21.

William Paterson again came out strong at the beginning of the second set before the Ospreys tied the match up at 8-8. Stockton methodically pulled away, led by
Grace Brandt (Floral Park, NY/Floral Park) who served three straight points, as the Ospreys put the second set away 25-16.

The final set was all Stockton as
Sophia Marziello (Haddonfield/Paul VI) served four consecutive points to boost the Ospreys to a 6-2 lead they never relinquished. Five kills each by Desmond and Kohlhoff, plus four aces by Marziello, including three straight at one point, gave the Ospreys the final set at 25-14.

Kohlhoff led the Ospreys with two blocks, while
Emily Sullivan (Bridgewater/Bridgewater-Raritan) filled the stat sheet. The sophomore dished a match-high 30 assists, had four digs and three aces.
