Wayne, NJ – Stockton University (24-6, 7-0 NJAC) kept their unblemished record in tact in NJAC play, with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-14) win over William Paterson (18-4, 3-4 NJAC) on Tuesday night.
Allie Desmond (Ellicott City, MD/Marriotts Ridge) led the offense with 14 kills, with
Julie Kohlhoff (West Islip, NY/West Islip) spiking 10 kills.

The Pioneers started quickly in the opening set, jumping out to a 14-8 lead before Stockton got untracked. Five straight points forced the home team into a timeout. Stockton fought back with Desmond smashing five of her eight kills in the first set to knot the set at 20-20. Three more spikes by the senior gave Stockton the first period at 25-21.

William Paterson again came out strong at the beginning of the second set before the Ospreys tied the match up at 8-8. Stockton methodically pulled away, led by
Grace Brandt (Floral Park, NY/Floral Park) who served three straight points, as the Ospreys put the second set away 25-16.

The final set was all Stockton as
Sophia Marziello (Haddonfield/Paul VI) served four consecutive points to boost the Ospreys to a 6-2 lead they never relinquished. Five kills each by Desmond and Kohlhoff, plus four aces by Marziello, including three straight at one point, gave the Ospreys the final set at 25-14.

Kohlhoff led the Ospreys with two blocks, while
Emily Sullivan (Bridgewater/Bridgewater-Raritan) filled the stat sheet. The sophomore dished a match-high 30 assists, had four digs and three aces.
Natalie Miller (Pittsburgh, PA/Thomas Jefferson) scooped eight digs, with Marziello adding five digs to go with her game-high five aces.

For the Pioneers, Alyson Toman led the team with nine kills, while teammate Kendall Caruso had 23 assists and seven digs. Amanda Lembo scooped a game-high 13 digs to go with five kills.

Stockton will be off until next Tuesday when they will face Kean University at the Stockton Athletics Center. Game time is set for 7 pm.
