Galloway, NJ – Five Stockton University men's soccer players were voted NJAC all-conference for the 2018 season, with four of them being first-time honorees. Leading the way were freshman
Villy Fortulus (Winslow Twp./Winslow Twp.) and junior
Christian Bik (Vineland/St. Augustine Prep), who were selected to the NJAC Second Team.
Senior
Eucario Solano (Galloway/Absegami), junior
Larry Abanilla (Union/Union Catholic) and junior goalkeeper
Michael Lescano (Union/St. Benedict's Prep) all were chosen NJAC Honorable Mention. Solano received his second straight NJAC Honorable Mention nod while the other four Ospreys were recognized for the first time.
Fortulus had an outstanding rookie campaign with a team-leading nine goals (T-8th in NJAC) and two assists for a team-best 20 points. He started 18 of the 19 games in which he appeared and netted a team-high three game-winning markers (T-5th in NJAC). The freshman was strong in conference play, tallying three goals and one assist for seven points in nine NJAC matches.
Bik totaled eight goals and one assist for 17 points in 19 games to finish second on the team in scoring behind Fortulus. The junior netted two game-winning goals and also booted the game-tying goal in a 1-1 draw with #17 Montclair State on a free kick with just 1:27 left in regulation. Like Fortulus, Bik scored three goals and dealt one assist against NJAC foes.
Solano earned his second straight NJAC Honorable Mention nod after another strong season at center midfield. The senior started all 20 games, scoring five goals and dishing three assists for 13 points, third on the squad behind Fortulus and Bik. Solano went 2-2 on penalty kicks this year.
Abanilla played in all 20 games and started 19 matches this season. An outside back, he helped Stockton to four shutouts with his strong defensive play. Abanilla also scored his first career goal in a 3-1 win over Rowan and dished one assist for three points, all in NJAC play.
Lescano came on midway through the season to backstop the Ospreys into the NJAC playoffs. He started 10 of Stockton's final 11 games and finished with a 1.20 goals against average, 29 saves and one shutout in 12 appearances. Lescano raised his game in conference play, posting a 0.86 goals against average along with 23 saves and one shutout in seven starts against league foes.
