Galloway, NJ – Three Stockton University field hockey players were selected to the NJAC First Team for the 2018 season, with one garnering a major award. All three Ospreys earned all-conference distinction for the first time in their careers.

Emily Gilligan (West Deptford/West Deptford) was chosen NJAC Goaltender of the Year and named to the NJAC First Team. Joining her on the NJAC First Team were senior
Victoria Caiazzo (Manahawkin/Southern Regional) and sophomore
Britney Stein (Ocean City/Ocean City).

Gilligan has had an outstanding season in her second year in net for Stockton. She has started all 17 games and backstopped the team to 12 wins as the Ospreys tied the school record. Gilligan ranks third in the league in saves (82), saves per game (4.82) and save percentage (.804).

Gilligan has recorded a 1.24 goals against average and three solo shutouts while also playing in two combined shutouts. She became just the second Stockton player to garner NJAC Goaltender of the Year, joining Caitlin Nolan in 2005. Gilligan set the school record for goals against average in a season last year (1.14) and currently has the second-best GAA in school history this year.

Caiazzo has had a sterling final season at Stockton, starting all 17 games while leading the team in goals (7), points (18), game-winning goals (4) and defensive saves (3). She is tied for fourth in the league in game-winning goals and tied for seventh in defensive saves. Caiazzo had two goals and two assists during conference play, accounting for a third of her total points.

The back has contributed defensively in seven shutouts this season. Caiazzo will leave her name in the Stockton record books, as she is tied for second all-time in defensive saves (9), tied for seventh all-time in goals (14), ninth in points (36) and tied for 10th in assists (8).

Stein is second on the team in scoring behind Caiazzo with five goals and three assists for 13 points. Two of her goals and five points came in league play. The sophomore is tied for 10th in the NJAC with two game-winning markers and leads the team with 22 shots on goal. Stein has started all 17 games this season and is already tied for 10th in Stockton history with 12 goals, with two seasons yet to play.
