Galloway, NJ – Two Stockton University women's cross country teammates earned spots on the NJAC all-conference team for 2018.
Regina Duncan (Frelinghuysen Twp./North Warren) qualified for the NJAC First Team and
Hayley Baydar (Hillsborough/Hillsborough) landed a berth on the NJAC Second Team. The all-conference teams are based on finish at the NJAC Championships.
Duncan snagged all-conference honors for the third time in her four seasons. The senior previously was NJAC First Team in 2016 and NJAC Second Team last year. Baydar, a transfer from Mercer County College, is in her first season at Stockton. Duncan and Baydar led Stockton to third place in the NJAC Championship on October 27.
Duncan finished fifth out of 97 runners in the conference meet with a time of 23:47.25 for six kilometers. The performance was her best ever in the NJAC race after finishing 13th last year, sixth in 2017 and 21st as a freshman.
Duncan has registered two top-10 finishes plus two more of 12th and 15th in six races this season. She has been Stockton's top finisher three times and second runner across the line at the other three meets this year.
Baydar placed 13th at the NJAC Championships with a 6K time of 23:47.25. The junior has had a strong first year at Stockton. Baydar has two top-10 performances to go with additional finishes of 13th and 16th in her first six races at a four-year school. She has been Stockton's top runner three times and second finisher three times, joining Duncan to form a solid duo leading the Ospreys.
Duncan, Baydar and the Stockton men's and women's cross country teams will compete in the NCAA Atlantic Regionals in Gloucester, NJ on Saturday.
