Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (15-10, 9-9 NJAC) played one their most complete games of the year and knocked off New Jersey City (19-6, 13-5 NJAC) by an 87-66 score on Wednesday night. Senior
Zavon Johnson (Trenton/West Windsor-Plainsboro South) led four Ospreys in double figures with a career-high 25 points in his last game at Stockton on Senior Night.

Stockton jumped out early on the Gothic Knights, relinquishing the lead just once in the first half, at 14-11 with 15:13 left in the first half. From there, the Ospreys were able to methodically increase their margin thought the first 20 minutes.

Kashaun Barnes (Toms River/Manchester Twp.) tallied 14 points during the first stanza while
Kelvin Tull (Millville/Millville) and Johnson added 11 and 10 markers respectively, as the Ospreys forged a 45-34 halftime advantage. Stockton committed just four turnovers and got 20 points off the bench.

The Ospreys kept up the pressure in the final half as Johnson was on fire from behind the arc. The Gothic Knights closed to within 12 points on two occasions but could get no closer. Johnson hit on 5-6 from three-point range in the final period. The senior shot 9-15 for the game including 7-10 from long range and committed just one turnover in 35 minutes of play.

Barnes added 24 points and a game-high four assists. Tull finished with 18 points and tied
Darius Jerkins (Somers Point/Mainland) for game-high honors with nine rebounds. Jerkins ended with 12 points to round out the quartet of double figure scorers. Stockton shot 49.3% (34-69) for the game and out rebounded NJCU 46-42 for the evening.

Lavrone Green led the Knights with 23 points, two assists and two steals. Sam Toney finished with 17 points and a team-high eight rebounds, while teammates Ruben Acosta and Chika Wosu scored 12 and 10 points respectively.

Before the game, five Ospreys seniors, Johnson, Tull, Jerkins,
Blake Rossell (Margate/St. Augustine) and
Jackson Merget (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson) were honored for their time at Stockton University.

The Ospreys finish their season with 15 wins with a superb 10-2 mark at home in the Stockton Athletic Center.
