Stockton Runs Past New Jersey City

Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (17-8, 13-5 NJAC) led wire-to-wire and downed New Jersey City (0-21, 0-18 NJAC) 84-17 in the final regular season game on Wednesday night. Mckenna Forry (Waterford/Hammonton) tied her career-highs with 13 points and seven rebounds, while blocking a career-high five shots on Senior Night.
 
The Ospreys started fast and never let up in the first quarter. Najha Treadwell (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson) tallied 12 points while fellow senior Marisa Daniels (Edison/Edison) added four markers and an assist as Stockton jumped out to a 24-2 opening period.
 
The second frame saw the Ospreys continue the onslaught. Forry led the way with four points and two blocks as Stockton increased the margin to 48-5 at the break.
 
The game became academic as all 15 players that were available, saw playing time in the final half for the Ospreys. Forry kept up her pace with four more points during the third period, with Treadwell adding six markers. Stockton put the exclamation point on the win, with a 21-10 final period and the 84-17 victory.
 
In addition to Forry, Treadwell scored a game-high 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for her seventh consecutive double-double. With the four rebounds she pulled down in the first period, the senior surpassed 1,000 rebounds for her career. Sasha Williams (Cherry Hill/CH West) also chipped in with a double-double scoring 14 points and game-high 18 rebounds.
 
Daniels scored a career-high eight points and tied her career-highs in rebounds and assists in the game. Natalie Miller (New Milford/New Milford) also eclipsed her career-high in rebounds with five boards.
 
In a ceremony before the game, seniors Williams, Treadwell, Daniels, Amy Loyola (Camden/Camden Academy) and Lea Mendolla (Nutley/Mount St. Dominic) were honored for their careers at Stockton.
 
Stockton, who ends the regular season as the number 3 seed, will begin play in the NJAC Tournament on Saturday afternoon, when they will face sixth seeded Rutgers Camden at home. Tip-off is scheduled for 2pm.
