Hilton Head, NJ – Stockton University (3-0) won its third straight game and dealt Lycoming (2-1) its first loss of the season, 15-12 in a high-scoring affair. The game was the first of two for the Ospreys in Hilton Head during spring break.
Gaby Ojeda (Galloway/Absegami) scored a team-high four goals to lead Stockton to victory.
Michaella Butrico (South Plainfield/South Plainfield) netted three goals followed by
Kristen Russo (Wayne/Wayne Hills) and
Abbey Yannacone (Manahawkin/Southern Regional) with two goals apiece. Russo also snagged a team-high five draw controls.
Four additional Ospreys each scored once. Freshman
Nicole Jandras (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) tallied a goal and an assist while fellow rookie
Danielle Graham (Cherry Hill/CH West) contributed a goal and four draw controls.
Melanie Patterson (Jackson/Jackson Liberty) registered one goal and two draw controls in the win.
Tamara Torales (Basking Ridge/Ridge) rounded out the list of scorers with one marker. Freshman
Jessica Catalioto (Ringwood/Lakeland) notched three draw controls. Freshman goalkeeper
Stevie Ader (Califon/Voorhees) earned her third straight win with eight saves for the Ospreys.
Stockton will wrap up its two-game stint in Hilton Head tomorrow morning when the Ospreys face Framingham State at 10 am.
