Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (21-15, 8-8 NJAC) snapped a six game losing skid, as they split a twinbill with Kean University (24-10, 9-7 NJAC) on Tuesday afternoon.
Alexandra Cosenzo (East Hanover/Hanover Park) and
Alexa Massa (Moorestown/Moorestown) drove in three runs each, with
Ashley Lobell (Cedar Knolls/Whippany Park) banging out three hits in the second game.

The Ospreys jumped out early in the first game, plating two runs in the first inning for a quick 2-0 lead.
Meg Murzello (Maple Shade/Holy Cross) singled, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by
Chelsea Thomas (Barrington/Haddon Heights) and scored on a Cosenzo single. Cosenzo tallied the second run on a ground out and error for the pair of runs.

That would be all the scoring for Stockton as the Cougars scored twice in the second and three more times in the third frame for a 5-2 margin. Another tally in the fourth by the visitors closed out the scoring at 6-2 in favor of Kean. Stockton had numerous opportunities as they rapped out 11 hits, but could not push another run across as they left 10 runners on base in the contest.

Stockton garnered a split of the doubleheader with the second game victory. After the Cougars opened the scoring with a single run in the top of the first, Stockton responded as Thomas singled, advanced to second on a ground out, and then scored as Massa singled to knot the game at 1-1.

The Ospreys broke the game open in the second inning with a four spot for a 5-1 advantage. Lobell started the uprising with the first of her three hits in the game. A walk to
Morgan DiVello (Atco/Hammonton) and a fielder's choice from
Liani Ortiz (Marlton/Cherokee) loaded the bases with no outs.

An error scored Lobell, then Cosenzo plated two more with a single. A squeeze bunt by Massa scored Thomas for the 5-1 lead. A
Daniela Marinaro (Cedar Grove/Cedar Grove) single the next inning made it 6-1 before the Cougars cut the lead with a single run to make it 6-2. Â
Casey Schieda (Monroe Twp. /Monroe Twp.) blasted her fourth homer of the season for a 7-2 lead after four innings.

Kean outscored Stockton 2-1 over the final three innings, to set the score at 8-4 in favor of the home team.
Hannah Bibeault (Hopatcong/Hopatcong) started both games for the Ospreys dropping the first game, but picking up her 12th win in game two.
Victoria Torp (West Milford/West Milford) came on in relief in both games, earning her league-leading fifth save in the nightcap.
The Ospreys will finish the regular season with a doubleheader at home against Rutgers Newark on Saturday. First pitch is set for 1 pm.
