Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (6-7) took an early first half lead, but fell in the second stanza, as the Ospreys dropped a 73-65 non-conference decision to #23 Swarthmore (9-2) on Wednesday evening.
Steve Ferebee (Galloway/Absegami) topped Stockton with 13 points and a team-high eight rebounds. It was the fourth straight loss for the Ospreys.

Stockton started strong, leading by as many as 10 points at 23-13 before the Garnet started to get untracked. A 15-5 run in a span of five and a half minutes, knotted the game at 28-28 with 2:29 left in the first half. Three pointers by
Jordan Taylor (East Orange/Cicely Tyson) and Ferebee offset a basket by Conor Harkins, to give Stockton slim 34-33 lead at the break.

The second half was all Garnet as they started the second frame on a 22-7 spurt to give the visitors a commanding 55-41 advantage at 11:16 of the period.
Tariq Baker (Brooklyn, NY/St. Anthony's) tried to start a Stockton rally, as he hit a shot from behind the arc, igniting a 10-0 run by Stockton.

Two baskets by
Tahir McCrea (Jersey City/Lincoln) and another bomb by Baker cut the margin to 55-51 with 8:35 left, but Stockton could not sustain the momentum. Swarthmore again used a 14-2 run to push the lead back to 69-53 at 4:31. The Ospreys got a close as seven pints but ran out of time and the final score was set at 73-65.

Ferebee pilfered a game-high three steals to go with his offensive output, while Taylor scored 12 points, nine in the first half. Taylor also led the Ospreys with five assists.

Swarthmore was led by Harkins with a game-high 29 points on 8-13 shooting from behind the arc. Cam Wiley and Ryan Ingram tallied 11 points each, with Zac O'Dell tallying 10 markers and a game-high seven assists.

Stockton's next game will be an NJAC tilt, as the Ospreys will travel to New Jersey City on Saturday. Game time is set for 3 pm.
