Stockton Downs Ramapo 4-2

Mahwah, NJ – Stockton University (10-1-1, 3-0-1 NJAC) continued their unbeaten roll, as the Ospreys defeated Ramapo College (4-5-1, 0-2-1 NJAC) by a 4-2 score on Saturday afternoon. Four different Ospreys hit the net, with Salena LeDonne (Parsippany/Parsippany) dishing a pair of assists on the day. The Ospreys currently have a nine-match unbeaten string.

The Roadrunners broke through on the scoring column first at 10:25, when Amanda Gouldsbury scored her first of the season for a 1-0 lead for the home team. Just over 10 minutes later, Sydney Williams (Millville/Millville) knotted the game at one with her seventh marker of the season. LeDonne fed Williams for the game tying goal.

With just over three minutes remaining before half, Stockton took a lead they would not relinquish. Freshman Heather Bertollo (Hawthorne/Hawthorne) scored her second tally of the season, unassisted, to give the Ospreys a 2-1 lead at the break.

The Ospreys kept the scoring going in the second half, as Susan Porambo (Millersville, PA/Penn Manor) scored her sixth goal of the season for a 3-1 lead at 54:53. LeDonne picked up her second assist of the day on the eventual game winning score.

The Roadrunners crept to within one goal in the 72nd minute to slice the margin. Carla Goodwin scored her fourth of the season to make it 3-2. But Dasey DiElmo (Little Egg Harbor/Pinelands) put the game out of reach with her second goal in as many games. Her insurance tally with just over six minutes remaining in the contest, gave Stockton a 4-2 lead and the road victory.

Freshman Olivia Harris (Sammamish, WA/Eastlake) made one save in net, earning her seventh win of the season. Elizabeth Harvell made 13 saves in net for Ramapo, as Stockton held a 24-4 margin in shots, with a 17-3 advantage in shots on goal.

Stockton will return home for their next game on Wednesday night. The Ospreys will face King's College (PA) for a non-conference tilt. Game time is set for 5 pm.
