Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (2-0) earned their second straight win to open the season with a dominant 79-53 win over The City College of New York (0-2) on Saturday evening.
Kiley Gelston (Washington Twp./Washington Twp.) led the Ospreys with a career-high 15 points.The gmae was the opener of the Stockton Tip-Off Tournament.

The Ospreys got off to a slow start as CCNY jumped out to a 15-10 lead after the first quarter of play. Stockton shot just 4-20 (20.0%) during the frame to the Beavers 6-15 (40.0%).

Stockton righted the ship during the second period, outscoring the visitors 20-11 to take a 30-26 halftime lead. A 7-2 run, led by
Chyna Wooten (Philadelphia, PA/Imhotep Charter) with five of the markers resulted in a 17-17 tie. Gelston scored four points, with
Armanee DeBarry (Millville/Millville) adding five markers, helped Stockton to the four-point margin at the break.

The Beavers came out of the break topping Stockton 19-14 for a 45-44 lead after three periods. Stockton helped the cause for CCNY with a 23.5% (4-17) shooting mark for the quarter. The Ospreys rallied to put the game away in the final frame, taking advantage of CCNY foul trouble to put on a 35-8 quarter. Stockton blistered the nets for 60.0% (15-25) shooting to salt the game away, 79-53.

In addition to Gelston, Wooten tallied a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds as did teammate
Raquel Harris-Scott (Pine Hill/Overbrook). Harris-Scott scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to top Stockton. The Osprey defense forced 25 turnovers that led to 26 points on the night.

Reilly Boehm led CCNY with a game-high 25 points, with Tianna Fumasoli adding 14 markers. Melanie Torres grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds with Harlean Williams pulling down 10 boards. Â

Stockton will play for the Tip Off Tournament championship tomorrow at 3 pm against Cabrini University. The Cavaliers downed Pitt-Greensburg to advance to the title match. CCNY will take on Pitt-Greensburg in the consolation game at 1 pm.
