Galloway, N.J. – Three Stockton University student-athletes were selected for weekly honors for the week of November 11-17. Junior
Julie Kohlhoff (West Islip, NY/West Islip) was named NJAC Player of the Week in volleyball for the second straight time.
Freshmen
DJ Campbell (Vineland/Vineland) and
Matthew Keidat (Margate/Holy Spirit) were chosen NJAC Rookie of the Week for men's basketball and men's cross country respectively. Both Ospreys received NJAC weekly awards for the first time.
Kohlhoff had another outstanding week in leading the Ospreys with team highs of 19 kills and four blocks during their NCAA Tournament run. The middle hitter spiked 11 kills with a pair of blocks in a 3-0 win over Penn State-Behrend. Kohlhoff then had eight more kills and two more blocks against #6 Johns Hopkins in the NCAA second-round defeat.
Kohlhoff registered a hitting percentage of .533 for the two matches and moved up to seventh in NCAA Division III in hitting percentage for the season (.408). She finished as the NJAC leader in hitting percentage as well as fourth in the conference in blocks (0.79 bps).
Campbell had an outstanding start to his career. In his first three college games, he averaged 15.3 points and reached the 20-point mark twice to spark the Ospreys to a 2-1 start. Campbell helped Stockton to the Stockton Tip-Off Classic title with a 20-point effort against St. Joseph's-Brooklyn before posting 22 points and a career-high eight rebounds against Albright.
In the championship game, Campbell scored the last six points of regulation on a three-pointer with 24 seconds remaining and three free throws with 4.6 seconds left to send the game to overtime. He added five more points in OT as the Ospreys took control to win 83-74. Campbell is the top rookie scorer in the NJAC thus far.
Keidat was the top NJAC freshman at the NCAA Atlantic Regionals with a time of 27:56.2 to finish 153rd out of 299 runners in the 8K race. The freshman's performance helped Stockton to 20th place out of 42 teams at the meet.
Keidat ran in six of Stockton's seven races in his rookie season, with a best finish of 32nd at the TCNJ Invitational on September 13 and best time of 26:52.5 at the NJAC Championships on November 2.
