Galloway, N.J. – Five Stockton University volleyball players were selected for NJAC all-conference honors for the 2019 season. In addition to the players receiving accolades, head coach
Allison Walker was voted NJAC Coach of the Year for the sixth time in her 14 years at the helm. Walker has led the Ospreys to a 29-3 record and a berth in tomorrow's NJAC championship match.
Juniors
Julie Kohlhoff (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) and
Emily Sullivan (Bridgewater/Bridgewater-Raritan) were selected to the NJAC First Team.
Charlotte Leon (Northport, N.Y./Northport) and
Sarah Walsh (Flemington/Hunterdon Central), also both juniors, were named to the NJAC Second Team.
Senior
Natalie Miller (Pittsburgh, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) was an NJAC Honorable Mention selection. Miller and Sullivan each received her third all-conference nods while Kohlhoff and Walsh garnered their second. Leon was recognized as an all-conference player for the first time.
Kohlhoff moved up to the NJAC First Team after being chosen NJAC Second Team a year ago. The middle hitter has had an outstanding season, leading the NJAC in hitting percentage (.389) and ranking second in blocks (91.0) and fifth in blocks per set (0.76). Kohlhoff also stands 12th in NCAA Division III in hitting percentage.
Sullivan has set career highs in assists (1,099), kills (179), blocks (47) and digs (300) in her third season in Galloway. She has been a three-time NJAC Player of the Week this year and earned her third consecutive NJAC First Team honor. The setter is third in the conference in assists (9.08 aps) and fifth in hitting percentage (.331). In addition, Sullivan ranks 11th nationally in total assists.
Sullivan has dished 40 or more assists in 13 of Stockton's 31 matches and also is second on the team in aces (49) and digs. With a year to play, she has moved up to fourth all-time at Stockton with 2,728 career assists.
Leon shifted from middle hitter to outside hitter this season and the move has paid dividends with 259 kills, second on the team, a .232 hitting percentage and 40 blocks. She spiked a career-high 24 kills against Springfield earlier this season and has reached double digits in kills nine times as part of a diverse Stockton attack.
Walsh, who missed last season due to injury, has made a sterling comeback. Although she has dealt with a variety of ailments this year, she has made the most of her playing time with 152 kills, 58 digs, a .251 hitting percentage and a team-best average of 3.44 points per set. Walsh, a 2017 NJAC Second Team selection, was named NJAC Player of the Week once this season.
Miller earned her second straight NJAC Honorable Mention nod after an NJAC Second Team spot in 2017. The libero leads the team and ranks sixth in the conference in digs at 4.41 per set. Miller also is second on the team with 91 assists and third with a career-high 38 aces.
Miller has been named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week once this year. For her career, she has scooped 1,716 digs, ranking fourth all-time at Stockton.
