Bethlehem, Pa. – Stockton University competed in the Lehigh Fast Times Before Finals, the first meet of the season for those Ospreys who were in action. The day featured a number of strong performances and was highlighted by two wins on the women's side.
Jessica McRae (Keyport/Carteret) won the triple jump (11.41m) and transfer
Susann Foley (Tabernacle/Seneca) won the high jump (1.65m) in her first meet in a Stockton uniform. In addition to the two victories, three Ospreys finished fourth in an event.
Jeanmarie Harvey (River Edge/River Dell) placed fourth in the pole vault (3.20m) and
Rachael Leyrer (Dorothy/Buena) was fourth in the 60m hurdles (9.49 seconds).
Emmy LaFevre (Flemington/Hunterdon Central) finished fourth in the shot put (11.16m) and teammate
Randi Lyn Hornyak (Ogdensburg/Wallkill Valley) was sixth (10.54m).
Charlotte Leon (Northport, N.Y./Northport) placed fifth in the weight throw (14.70m) while
Jy'Asia Bivins (Toms River/TR South) finished fifth in the long jump (5.09m) and
Jenna Walker (Barnegat/Barnegat) was fifth in the 400m (1:04.75).
Transfer
Edward Dennerlein (Chatham/Chatham) made an impressive Stockton debut as he finished second in the shot put (16.60m) with a toss that should put him in the top 10 in the nation. Dennerlein also was sixth in the weight throw (15.12m).
Keith Holland (Bayville/Central Regional) notched a runner-up finish, taking second in the pole vault (4.40m).
Qudratullah Qadiri (Ocean Twp./Ocean Twp.) placed third in the pole vault (4.40m) plus fourth in the 60m hurdles (8.74 seconds). Freshman
Jared Conte (Ocean Twp./Ocean Twp.) earned third in the 200m (22.95 seconds) at his first college meet.
Tom Strychowski (Lanoka Harbor/Lacey Twp.) finished fourth in the shot put (15.14m) and
Hunter Daly (Florence/Florence) was fourth in the high jump (1.90m).
McRae, Foley, Harvey, Leon, Leyrer, Dennerlein, Strychowski, Daly, Holland, Qadiri and
James Flasser (South Plainfield/South Plainfield) all qualified for the Atlantic Region Championships.
Stockton will return to action after the holidays, competing next in the Gotham Cup at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on January 17.
