Edward Dennerlein (Chatham/Chatham) was named NJAC Field Athlete of the Week in men's track & field.
Campbell received the NJAC rookie award for the second straight week and third time this season. Dennerlein, a transfer who competed for the first time in a Stockton uniform on Saturday, earned his second career nod after being named NJAC Field Athlete of the Week in 2018 while competing for Rutgers-Newark.
Campbell had another big week for the Ospreys, averaging a team-high 15.5 points per game to help Stockton remain unbeaten in the NJAC with wins over Rutgers-Camden and Ramapo. The freshman shot an outstanding 57.1 percent (8-14) from behind the arc and 55 percent (11-20) from the field overall. Campbell also grabbed 4.5 rebounds for the week.
Campbell went a torrid 4-5 from three-point range and finished with 14 points in a 91-67 win over Rutgers-Camden on December 4. He followed with a team-high 17 points and tied for game-high honors with seven rebounds in a 76-74 triumph over Ramapo on Saturday. Campbell is fourth in the conference in three-pointers (2.7/game).
Dennerlein, a two-time NJAC champion in the shot put, got his Stockton career off to an outstanding beginning. He placed second out of 23 competitors in the shot put at the Lehigh Fast Times Before Finals Meet. His toss of 16.60 meters was a personal best and earned second place behind only an unattached (non-collegiate) competitor.
Dennerlein's shot put also was the second-best in the nation for NCAA Division III during the first weekend of the season. He followed that up with another personal best in the weight throw, 15.12 meters, placing sixth out of 22 overall and second among Division III competitors in the event.
