Scranton, PA – Stockton University (8-2) rallied from a five-goal deficit and earned a thrilling 17-16 win in overtime, over Scranton University (5-6) on Saturday afternoon.
Luc Swedlund (Randolph/Randolph) with six goals and
Eric Ellis (Voorhees/Eastern) with three goals and three assists, paced the Ospreys. Swedlund has 51 goals this season, tying him for third in a single season at Stockton.

Stockton started slowly after scoring the first goal of the game by
Eric D'Arminio (Roxbury/Roxbury). The Royals answered with four straight markers for a 4-1 lead. D'Arminio and Swedlund sliced the margin to 4-3 before the teams traded scores, with Stockton down 5-4 after one period.

Colin Shea (Rumson/Rumson-Fair Haven) and Ellis pushed Stockton back in front 6-5 before Scranton scored twice to retake the lead at 7-6 in the second period.
Erik Anderson (Monroe Twp./Monroe Twp.) tallied a pair of goals to offset one by the home team and the Ospreys went to the break up 8-7.

Stockton looked to take command of the game at 10-8 on markers by Swedlund and Ellis but Scranton would start their run immediately after. Five straight goals to end the third period put the Royals up 13-10 after three quarters. Another pair of tallies made it 15-10 to start the fourth frame before Stockton started to rally.

Ellis and Swedlund scored to cut the margin to 15-12 with 6:16 to play. Scranton would score their last goal for a 16-12 lead. Tallies by
Dante Poli (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks South) and Swedlund cut the lead to 16-14. D'Arminio made it a one-goal affair with 28 seconds left, setting up Swedlund's heroics.

The sophomore found a loose ball in front of the Scranton goal and scored with three seconds left to tie it up at 16-16 and force the extra frame. In overtime, Stockton had a man advantage but failed to convert. Shea then found Swedlund with 1:17 remaining in the period for the 17-16 victory.

D'Arminio and Anderson scored two goals each, with Anderson also leading the team with two caused turnovers.
Kevin Matheny (Flemington/Hunterdon Central) had a team-high six ground balls.
Justin Ruiz (Holmdel/Holmdel) kicked out 19 shots in gaining the win in net.

Scranton was led by Connor Kirkwood, Cole Lukasiewicz and Tim Dolan with three goals each. Collin Purdy won 27-37 face-offs and scooped a game-high 20 ground balls. Netminder Shayne Fallon made 15 saves in the loss.

Stockton will open CSAC play at home next Wednesday as the Ospreys will face off against Kean University. The game is scheduled for G. Larry James Stadium and is set for a 7 pm start.
