La Plume, PA – Stockton University (10-2, 2-0 CSAC) rolled to a 29-1 victory over Keystone College (0-8, 0-2) in a Colonial States Athletic Conference game on Saturday afternoon. The Ospreys scored 15 goals in the first quarter and cruised to their third straight win.
Fifteen different Stockton players netted goals in the game, led by
Dante Poli (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks South) with five counters and two assists. Freshman
Sean Haddock (Hightstown/Hightstown) was one of several Ospreys who tallied their first career goal. Haddock finished with his first three college markers plus two assists.
Fellow rookie
Chase Mendyk (Cape May/Lower Cape May) also scored his first three career goals and dished one assist for four points.
Erik Anderson (Monroe Twp./Monroe Twp.) and
Zach Wechsler (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) each contributed two goals and three assists for five points. Wechsler's goals were the first of his career.
Senior
Rory Alpaugh (Clinton/North Hunterdon) notched his first points of the season with two goals and two assists. Junior
Myles Ackerson (Hopewell Valley/Hopewell Valley) was another player who got his first career points, registering two goals and an assist.
Paul Krueger (Manasquan/Manasquan) and
Luc Swedlund (Randolph/Randolph) also finished with two goals and an assist.
Senior
Hogan Laskey (Clinton/North Hunterdon) and freshmen
Maximillian Matthies (Jackson/Jackson Liberty),
Stanley Kolimago (Lansdale, PA/Metehacton) and
Evan Hilla (Manasquan/Manasquan) all potted their first career goal as well.
Eric Ellis (Voorhees/Eastern) and
Kevin Matheny (Flemington/Hunterdon Central) also scored one marker apiece.
Goalkeeper
Justin Ruiz (Holmdel/Holmdel) did not face a shot in the first half. Freshman goalie
Nicholas Metzger (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) made his college debut in the second half and recorded one save.
After the 15-goal first quarter, Stockton added five apiece in the second and third periods before scoring four times in the final stanza. The Ospreys outshot Keystone 46-3 in the game.
Stockton will host Montclair State in a CSAC game at G. Larry James Stadium on Wednesday at 7 pm.
