Philadelphia, PA – Stockton University finished the 2018-19 season by competing in the 81st Dad Vail Regatta, the largest collegiate regatta in the North America with over 100 colleges and universities participating. Stockton rowed in the Dad Vails for the first time since 2011 and made some history while competing in three women's events yesterday and today.
Earlier today, Stockton finished third out of six in the DIII Varsity Eight with a time of 6:51.539 to earn a bronze medal and become the first Stockton boat to snag a medal at the Dad Vails since a women's pair won silver in 1998. The Ospreys, who trailed only Vassar and Washington College (MD) in the race, also became the first varsity eight in school history ever to medal.

Lily Ludgate (Somers Point/Mainland) and
Michaela Pope (Collingswood/Collingswood) and the coxswain was Kaitlyn Bradley (Mays Landing/Oakcrest).
In the Frosh/Novice Four,
Morgan Maines (Moorestown/Moorestown),
Jany Anderson (Petersburg/Ocean City),
Caitlyn Fogarty (Jackson/Jackson Memorial),
Desarae Dempsey (Franklinville/GCIT) and coxswain
Julianna Hanson (Linwood/Mainland) advanced to the semifinals with a time of 7:52.383 that was 17th out of 25 overall and sixth out of 10 Division III squads.
The group became the first Stockton crew to reach a semifinal in any Dad Vail race since 2004. The Ospreys placed fourth in their semifinal heat with a time of 9:24.605 that was 10th out of 18 semifinalists and moved them into Final 2. Stockton then finished fourth in that race at 8:05.945.
Catelyn Andrews (Old Bridge/Old Bridge),
Kayla Bokor (Wayne/Roxbury),
Jazlyn Quish (Mays Landing/Oakcrest), Hurley and coxswain Bradley were Stockton's unit in the DII/III Varsity Four. The Ospreys placed fifth in their heat and 12th out of 18 overall with a time of 9:23.740.
The time placed the Varsity Four into Final 3, which they won over Tampa, Bryn Mawr and Ohio Welseyan with a time of 7:49.711.
Stockton's performance at the Dad Vail Regatta this weekend capped a season in which the program made tremendous strides under first-year head coach
John Bancheri. The Ospreys trained in Florida during spring break for the first time, recorded their best finish ever at the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Championships and reached new heights at the Dad Vails that included the first medal in 21 years.
