Galloway, NJ – Eleven Stockton University student-athletes earned NJAC All-Conference recognition in women's track & field for their performances at the NJAC Championships, which were held at Stockton University last weekend. The Ospreys finished third at the conference meet with 108 points.
Charlotte Leon (Northport, NY/Northport) was the lone NJAC First Team selection for Stockton after she won the hammer throw at the NJAC Championships with a toss of 46.23 meters. The sophomore earned her First Team honor after snagging an Honorable Mention slot in the same event a year ago.
Freshman
Jeanmarie Harvey (River Edge/River Dell) posted the only NJAC Second Team nod for the Ospreys. Harvey was the runner-up in the pole vault at the conference meet with a height of 3.05 meters.
Stockton earned nine NJAC Honorable Mention spots, which go to third-place finishers at the NJAC Championships, led by Leon in the discus to give her a pair of all-conference honors. Joining Leon with two nods was
Abby Lodge (Douglassville, PA/Daniel Boone) who notched Honorable Mention kudos in the 400m and 4x100 relay.
Freshman
Jy'Asia Bivins (Toms River/Toms River South),
Erica Burdsall (Bridgeton/Cumberland) and
Jenna Walker (Barnegat/Barnegat) teamed with Lodge on the 4x100 relay team. The quartet set a new school record in the event (49.32 seconds) while placing third.
Rachael Leyrer (Dorothy/Buena) in the 100-meter hurdles,
Lauren Tigue (West Deptford/West Deptford) in the triple jump and
Randi Lyn Hornyak (Ogdensburg/Wallkill Valley) in the shot put each garnered NJAC Honorable Mention accolades.
A pair of freshmen who earned Honorable Mention status in individual events were
Lauren Preston (Wernersville, PA/Conrad Weiser) in the pole vault and
Jessie Klenk (Somerdale/Sterling) in the heptathlon.
