Stockton Dominates Golden Eagles 6-1

Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (4-1) used a balanced scoring attack to wear down St. Joseph's-LI (2-1-1) by a 6-1 score on Wednesday night. Sydney Williams (Millville/Millville) and freshman Coral Briber (New Providence/Union Catholic) each tallied a goal and assist to lead the Ospreys.

The Golden Eagles got the scoring started 2:20 into the contest as Abbey Curcio took advantage of a defensive breakdown. She went in alone on the Stockton net and scored what would be the lone goal on the night for the visitors and a 1-0 lead.

Williams got the Ospreys even at 19:50 on an assist from Briber. Her tap-in off the pass in front made it 1-1. Just before the half, Briber scored her marker, with a Williams assist this time, for a2-1 lead. Briber's shot to the low corner gave Stockton a one-goal margin heading into the break.

The second half was all Ospreys. Freshman Heather Bertollo (Hawthorne/Hawthorne) scored her first career goal just over five minutes into the frame for a 3-1 lead. Bri Honse (Gainesville, VA/Battlefield) sent a cross that made it Bertollo on the far side of the net, who scored to the near side.

Ten minutes later, Susan Porambo (Millersville, PA/Penn Manor) volleyed in a pass from Honse to make it 4-1 and the rout was on. Brenna Clowney (Mullica Hill/Clearview) scored her second goal of the season on a rebound. Salena LeDonne (Parsippany/Parsippany) blasted a shot that went off the goalie and Clowney pounced on it for a 5-1 margin.

Bri Pagnani (Bordentown/Bordentown) ended the scoring in the 84th minute with her second tally of the year to make it 6-1. Kayla Bieniakowski (Egg Harbor City/Cedar Creek) dished the assist on the final goal of the night.

Freshman Olivia Harris (Sammamish, WA/Eastlake) started in goal, allowing just the one tally in earning her fourth win of the year. Jennifer Devault (Mullica Hill/Kingsway) played the second half, keeping the Golden Eagles off the scoreboard.

Juliana Cintron-Leonardo made 11 saves in net for St. Joseph's, with Curcio getting the lone goal.
