Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (5-1-1) defeated Ursinus College (3-2) by a 4-0 score on Saturday afternoon. The Ospreys saw seven different players score a point in the match. Stockton also stretched their unbeaten streak to six straight games, four coming by shutout.
Stockton jumped out to the early lead when
John Maxted (Middletown/Middletown North) tapped in a crossing pass from
Christian Bik (Vineland/St. Augustine Prep) for the 1-0 lead. Just over five minutes later,
Ervin Gjeli (Hasbrouck Heights/Hasbrouck Hts.) scored from just about the same spot as Maxted in front for a two-goal margin.
Michael Echeverria (Linden/St. Joseph's) sent a pass from outside the box, when Gjeli potted his team-leading third goal of the season. With 19 seconds left in the half,
Drew Ruble (Medford/Shawnee) curled in a right footed shot to the lower left corner to give Stockton a commanding 3-0 advantage going into the half.
In the 70th minute,
Andrew Griggs (Galloway/Absegami) finished the scoring, when he was sent in on the goalkeeper one-on-one.
Justin Ruiz (Wayne/Wayne Hills) gave Griggs the chance and his first goal of the season hit the lower right corner for the 4-0 margin. Both squads substituted freely after the score and the game ended with Stockton capturing the 4-0 shutout victory.

Dino Gromitsaris (Bordentown/Bordentown) played the first 71:27, making one save. Freshman
Liam Brett (Palmyra/Palmyra) finished up, also making one save in the combined shutout.
Ursinus net minder Tyler Lewin started and played the first 78:58, before giving way to Matthew Kenwood who played the final 11:02. Lewin made three saves.
Stockton will play the second of four consecutive home matches on Wednesday night. Rosemont College will visit to take on the Ospreys. Game time is set for 5pm.
