Stockton Routs Shenandoah 5-1

Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (3-1) scored four goals in the first half and cruised to a convincing 5-1 victory over Shenandoah (2-2) on Saturday afternoon. Kiersten Reszkowski (Freehold/Freehold Twp.) scored two goals to lead the Ospreys.

Reszkowski got the Ospreys off and running 43 seconds into the game when she headed in a cross from Michelle Sander (Ewing/Notre Dame) on a free kick for a quick 1-0 lead. Susan Porambo (Millersville, PA/Penn Manor) made it 2-0 when she scored on a floater from 30 yards out that found the net over the goalkeeper's head in the 18th minute

The Hornets sliced the lead to 2-1 on an unassisted breakaway tally from Maiya Pencile in the 26th minute before Bri Pagnani (Bordentown/Bordentown) pushed the margin back to a pair with her first goal of the season. Sydney Williams (Millville/Millville) sent the ball into the box that Pagnani corralled and shot in for a 3-1 advantage with less than eight minutes to play in the first half.

Stockton finished up the first-half onslaught with a goal from Coral Briber (New Providence/Union Catholic) for a 4-1 lead. The freshman was sent on a breakaway bya pass from Bri Bocelli (Marlton/Cherokee) and scored her first career goal to send the game to the half with Stockton holding a three-goal margin.

The Hornets came out with some fire to begin the second half but could not put a shot into the net. Reszkowski ended the scoring in the 71st minute with her second marker of the contest. Her long volley from outside the box eluded the Hornets' netminder for her third goal of the season. Both teams substituted liberally for the final 20 minutes and the final score was set at 5-1.

Freshman Olivia Harris (Sammamish, WA/Eastlake) started in goal and won her third game of the season, playing the first 56:08 and making two saves. Jennifer Devault (Mullica Hill/Kingsway) finished up and made one save for Stockton.
