Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University (2-1) continued its six-match homestand to begin the season with a 9-0 victory of Delaware Valley (1-1). Two of the three doubles matches were 8-0 shutouts.
Elena Nunez (Madrid, Spain/Rye (N.Y.) and
Audrey van Schalkwyk (Haddon Hts./Paul VI) won by that score at No. 1 doubles.
Brenna Samuels (Salem/Salem) and
Brooke Samuels (Salem/Salem) also blanked their opponents at No. 3 doubles.
Brianna McCarthy (West Long Branch/Shore Regional) and
Sarah Richardson (Atco/Hammonton) teamed for an 8-4 triumph at No. 2 doubles.
Nunez and van Schalkwyk won by scores of 6-0, 6-1 and 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 and No. 2 singles respectively.
Brenna Samuels captured the closest match of the day 7-5, 6-2 at No. 3 singles while
Brooke Samuels cruised 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.
Renee Wornowicz (Old Bridge/Old Bridge) notched a 6-4, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles and
Katelyn Emick (West Deptford/West Deptford) completed the 9-0 shutout with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles.
Stockton will host Penn State Abington on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
