Galloway, NJ – Stockton University (8-13, 3-11 NJAC) dropped their second straight game with a 73-57 defeat at the hands of Rowan University (18-3, 12-2 NJAC) on Wednesday night. 
Emily Donzanti (Toms River/Toms Rivers South) was the only Osprey to reach double figures with a season-high 23 points.
 
The teams played tight to begin the contest, battling to an early 7-7 tie at the 5:03 mark of the first period. The Profs then ran off on a 13-4 run to close the frame with a 20-11 lead. The Ospreys fought back in the second quarter, outscoring the visitors 14-9 to close to 29-25 at the break.
 
Donzanti tallied 13 of her markers in the first 20 minutes, with freshman 
Ionyonia Alves (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) scoring six points and pulling down seven rebounds to help Stockton stay within striking distance.
 
Stockton battled back in the third quarter to knot the game twice, the last coming at 54 seconds left in the period. With the score 38-33 with 3:51 left in the quarter, five points by Donzanti and a basket by freshman 
Maddie McCracken (Wildwood/Wildwood) gave Stockton a brief 40-38 lead with 1:07 left, their first edge since the early part of the first quarter.
 
Rowan responded with six unanswered points to regain the lead at 44-40 heading into the final frame. The Profs kept up the pressure running out to a 18-3 run to start the final period and taking a commanding 58-43 advantage with 6:07 remaining in regulation. The teams played out the final minutes with Rowan capturing the 73-57 win.
 
Alves finished with a career-high 12 rebounds and scored seven points on the night. 
Lajerah Wright (Atlantic City/Atlantic City), 
Raquel Harris-Scott (Pine Hill/Overbrook) and McCracken also tallied seven points each. Donzanti pilfered three steals, with McCracken and 
Chyna Wooten (Philadelphia, PA/Imhotep Charter) dishing two assists apiece.
 
Grace Marshall scored 17 points to top Rowan, with Eliana Santana and Nicole Mallard adding 16 and 14 points respectively. Ayanna Johnson pulled down 14 rebounds, with Santana completing her double-double with 11 boards. Mallard had game highs of four assists and five steals, with Johnson blocking five shots.
 
Stockton will travel to Jersey City on Saturday for the next contest for the Ospreys. New Jersey City and Stockton will tip-off at 1 pm.
